I, Alyssa Hufschmid, am conducting this study for my 8th grade science fair project. By participating, you can help me and may find it interesting. It only takes a couple of minutes.
The study explores people’s ability to recognize emotions by looking at faces. You will look at a series of pictures, and guess what emotion each picture portrays.
The risks of participating in this study are “trivial”, no more than you would encounter in everyday life. At worst, you might find some pictures confusing or a little frustrating. You are free to quit at any time without penalty, although it would help me if you rate all the pictures.
Results will be analyzed and presented anonymously. I will never even write down your name.
If you are willing to participate, please look at each picture carefully, then indicate the emotion you think the picture is expressing.
Please ask me (Alyssa) if you have any questions, but please PLEASE do not discuss the pictures or your answers with others to avoid biasing my results.
